Tisanart Sornsuek was one of the winners at the 2019 Asian Television Awards. It was the 24th edition of the annual awarding ceremony that recognizes achievements in the Asian TV industry.
Sornsuek won the award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in “True Life of a Drama Queen.” She bested “The Light Your Eyes” actress Kim Hye-Ja of South Korea, “A Thousand Goodnights” (一千个晚安) actress Yu-Han Lien and “Girl’s Power” actress Shu Han, Liang of Taiwan, “Barangay 143” voice actress Julie Anne San Jose of the Philippines, “My True Friend”actress Angelababy of China and “Don’t Sleep My Hero” actress Khemanit Jamikorn and “Bangkok Love Stories: Plead” actress Sutatta Udomsilp of Thailand.
The 24th Asian TV Awards took place at the Newport Performing Arts Theater of Resorts World Manila in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines from January 10-12, 2020. Cathy Yang, Mark Neumann, Ase Wang and Wallace Ang served as the hosts.
Ruhainies Farehah, Martin del Rosario, Karylle and Diana Zubiri were among the presenters. Martin Nievera, Morisette, Jona, Anggun, Cherry Bullet, Jasmine Henry, Kiana Valenciano, Gab Valenciano, Hoang Yen Chibi, Kris Lawrence and Arman Ferrer performed during the event.
Anggun Cipta Sami, 45, of Indonesia was honored for her outstanding contribution to Asian TV performing arts. She was a judge in the first three seasons of “Asia’s Got Talent” and in the first season of France’s version of “The Masked Singer” titled “Le Chanteur Masqué.”
Manuel V. Pangilinan, 74, of the Philippines also received an award for his outstanding contribution to Asian TV. Line Company (Thailand) Limited was named Cable, Satellite or Online Network of the Year while China Global Television Network (CGTN) was Terrestrial Broadcaster of the Year.
The 24th Asian TV Awards marked the first time the awarding ceremony was held in the Philippines. Watch the second day of the three-day event here:
