Stephen “The Sniper” Loman, 23, was recently honored by the city government of Baguio City, Philippines in recognition of his achievements in the sport of mixed martial arts. He is training out of Team Lakay in La Trinidad, Benguet, Philippines and is the longest reigning world champion in Bahrain-based MMA promotion BRAVE Combat Federation.

Presented by Baguio City representatives, the recognition acknowledges the outstanding accomplishments of Loman through his career. He was honored for successfully defending his BRAVE CF world title twice in 2019 and for his impact in the community in the city, where he is currently based.

Loman has been competing professionally since 2012. He has been reigning as the BRAVE CF Bantamweight World Champion since November 17, 2017.

On March 15, 2019, Loman had a much deserved homecoming, headlining “BRAVE CF 22: Storm of Warriors,” which took place at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines, taking on former Brave CF Featherweight Champion Elias “Smile” Boudegzdame, 25, of France. The hometown hero ran through the French-Algerian fighter, stopping him in the fourth round with a violent technical knockout that sent shockwaves through the division.

Loman then traveled to Hyderabad, India to produce the first ever world title fight in Indian territory. On November 23, 2019 at “BRAVE CF 30,” he took on Louie “Leonidas” Sanoudakis, 30, of Canada and went on a rampage again, beating his rival by unanimous decision and maintaining his belt in dominant fashion.

With the win in Hyderabad, Loman extended his dominance as the only world champion at the Bahrain-based MMA promotion’s bantamweight division. He has defended his title four times in a row and is now holding a professional MMA record of 13 wins and 2 losses.

The Team Lakay representative is the only titleholder in BRAVE CF history who has defended his belt more than one time. Here is a clip featuring Baguio City’s very own MMA star:
