A lot of you have been texting and calling. can’t answer right now. Thank you for checking on me. Means a lot. Yes I am safe po. I’m ok and my P.A. And my driver as well. Papa Jesus protected us. I dont have an idea what really happened, mistaken identity? I guess?? Napag tripan?.. This is a bad joke. 6am on my way to taping, I was asleep inside my car then I heard several gun shots, 8 to be exact. I was shocked and ask my driver what happened, then I saw this bullet on the windshield where my head was laying “buti nakahiga ako.” Pano kung tinuloy ko magbasa ng script?… I was so scared, I dont know what to feel right now. Wala naman akong kaaway or ka atraso. Why me?. Kung sino man ang gumawa nito Diyos na ang bahala sa inyo dalawa at the end of the day inisip ko nalang walang nasaktan sa amin. God protected us. Salamat po.
The incident happened at around 6:15 a.m. While Chiu was in her van with her personal assistant, two unidentified suspects on board a motorcycle fired six gunshots at their vehicle, according to statement of her driver Wilfred Taperia obtained by CNN Philippines.
Wearing black helmets and jackets, the two gunmen fled towards Katipunan Avenue after firing at the van, according to Taperia. In a phone interview on the ABS-CBN morning show “Umagang Kay Ganda,” he said they did not immediately realize that were already being shot at.
Taperia, Chiu and her assistant were the only passengers in the van. They are all safe after the incident and the actress went to her “Love Thy Woman” taping as scheduled.
Born in Tacloban, Leyte, Philippines on April 19, 1990, Chiu was the first winner of the teen edition of the Philippine version of “Big Brother.” The reality show aired on ABS-CBN from April 23, 2006 to June 3, 2006.
Chiu was raised in Cebu City, Philippines. She currently plays Jia Wong in the ABS-CBN series “Love Thy Woman.”
As a singer, Chiu has three studio albums. She released “Gwa Ai Di” through Star Records in 2007 and “Chinita Princess” in 2015 and “Chinita Princess: Touch of Your Love” in 2017 both via Star Music.
