Maria Izadora Ussher Calzado-Wintle, 37, who is professionally known as Iza Calzado, is currently hospitalized for pneumonia. On March 25, 2020, the Filipino actress took to Instagram to announce that she was tested for the new coronavirus (COVID-19) and she had been waiting for the results for several days already.
Calzado did not reveal the hospital where she is currently confined. She is one of the main cast members of “Ang Sa Iyo ay Akin” (What is Yours is Mine), which was supposed to premiere on ABS-CBN at 4:15 p.m. on March 23, 2020 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Ang Sa Iyo ay Akin” also stars Jodi Sta. Maria, Maricel Soriano and Sam Milby. Calzado and Sta. Maria play best friends in the show.
Born on August 12, 1982 in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines, Calzado is the younger sister of Filipino rap group Legit Misfitz member Dash Calzado. Their father is the late TV director and choreographer Lito Calzado while their mother is Maria Antonia Ussher.
On December 19, 2018, Iza and her longtime boyfriend Ben Wintle got married at Club Paradise in Coron, Palawan, Philippines. It was attended by Dash and Iza’s former “Encantadia” co-stars Karylle Tatlonghari, Sunshine Dizon and Diana Zubiri.
The last film Iza starred in was the 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Culion,” which also starred Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Meryll Soriano, Joem Bascon and Mai Fanglayan, among others. Here is the official trailer:
