Pop artist Dominic Chin, 24, of Singapore has released “AWARE” via Umami Records. This electro-pop track explores the theme of infatuation of which it is about wanting to please and impress one’s crush.

With a colouful theme of visuals to accompany this release, “AWARE” has a fun chorus that will get you irresistibly hooked. It is the fourth single of Chin’s debut EP “License to Cry.”

“AWARE” is a fun, tongue-in-cheek song about having a crush on someone. It is about wanting more than just his or her attention and trying everything to please and impress him or her.

“It’s an honor to be able to love and be loved in return,” Chin declared. “If you like somebody, don’t feel bad about it! Love freely and love openly.”

A minimalistic electro-pop production with bouncy synths and a crisp beat accompany Chin’s unique voice. “He sings about his willingness to do anything to satisfy the subject of his affections.”

“Tell me what you need, what you need I’ll be,” a part of the lyrics goes. “Baby, I can take the lead or if you want control, if you wanna set the tone, Baby, I am yours to own.”

Playful whistling and whimsical synth riffs come together in the song’s heady instrumental breaks. Chin shared, “These are my favorite parts.”

“They have such a party vibe to them,” Chin continued. “I imagined colorful laser lights everywhere.”

Throughout 2020, Chin will be releasing his seven-track debut EP “License to Cry” via Umami Records leading up to his debut show at the Esplanade Singapore at the end of the year to celebrate its launch.

With a distinct voice and a blend of electro-pop, soul and R&B, Chin creates music and writes songs from the heart that resonate deeply with his audience. The singer-songwriter is fueled by life and all its awkward contradictions and his songs have been featured on major Spotify editorial playlists including Electro Mix and Singapore’s Top Acts.

In 2010, Chin started covering songs on YouTube. After 10 years, his channel has garnered more than 9200 subscribers and 1.3 million views.

After the viral success of “You First Believed,” a tribute song Chin wrote for Singapore founding father Mr. Lee Kuan Yew in 2014, he was compelled to start writing more originals. He released his first single “CLSE2U” in 2018 followed by “SHY,” “HERE” and “AWARE.” Follow the Singaporean singer-songwriter on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
