Romania to host BRAVE CF’s first post-COVID-19 show

Romania will host yet another BRAVE Combat Federation event. This will be the first event of the Bahrain-based mixed martial arts after going on a hiatus because of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

BRAVE CF has yet to announce the details of the comeback event, including the specific venue in Romania and the exact date. Officials from the promotion confirmed that the fight night will take place in a closed-doors arena.

This will not be the first BRAVE CF event to take place in Romania. On November 4, 2019, the promotion’s first event in the European country titled “BRAVE CF 28” took place in Bucharest, Romania.

“BRAVE CF 28” was a partnership between BRAVE CF and Real Xtreme Fighting, one of the biggest MMA organizations in Romania. Because of the success of the event, the two promotions planned to partner again for BRAVE CF 36,” which was originally set to take place at the BT Arena in Cluj Napoca, Romania on April 13, 2020.

“Romania is a great home for BRAVE CF and MMA in Europe and we continue to nurture that relationship with RXF and local organizations throughout the continent,” BRAVE CF president Mohammed “The Hawk” Shahid said then. “No sport is globalized without Europe being heavily involved and one of our goals for 2020 is to bring the European community together and insert the entire continent into the MMA community worldwide.”

However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, BRAVE CF announced on March 16, 2020 the postponement of its upcoming events including “BRAVE CF 36.” The other postponed events were “BRAVE CF 35” and “BRAVE CF 37,″ which were supposed to take place in Balneário Camboriú,  Santa Catarina, Brazil on March 28, 2020 and at Solnahallen in Stockholm, Sweden on April 18, 2020, respectively.

“We, at BRAVE Combat Federation, are aware of these very challenging times as we urge you to follow the advice of WHO (World Health Organization) to stop the spread of #CoronaVirus,” Shahid stated when the promotion announced the postponement of the events. “This is not something to be taken lightly and I want to personally assure you that BRAVE Combat Federation is working towards a healthy solution for its events.”
