Naya Rivera, 33, may have been found on July 13, 2020. The same day marks the seventh death anniversary of her late “Glee” co-star Cory Monteith.

At around 1 p.m. on July 8, 2020, Rivera and her son Josey Hollis Dorsey, 4, rented a pontoon boat on Lake Piru in Los Padres National Forest and Topatopa Mountains of Ventura County in California. Around three hours later, another boater found the boat drifting with Josey sleeping on board while his mother was nowhere to be found.

A Ventura County Sheriff’s Department official told TMZ that many Twitter users have been asking authorities to search the cabins in the area. But according to the official, they do not believe Rivera is in a cabin and they are confident she is still in the water.

In the morning of July 13, 2020, searchers found a body at Lake Piru although it has yet to be officially confirmed if it was Rivera. Authorities told KTLA, “We had boat crews on the lake at first light this morning with divers and they discovered the body floating.”

Born on January 12, 1987 in Valencia, Santa Clarita, California, Rivera is the eldest child of Puerto Rican-German actor George Rivera and Puerto Rican-African American model Yolanda Marie White. As a baby, Naya appeared in commercials for Kmart.

Naya and Ryan Dorsey got married on July 19, 2014 in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Their son Josey was born on September 17, 2015 in Los Angeles, California.

From 2009 to 2015, Naya played Santana Lopez on “Glee.” Monteith played Finn Hudson on the Fox series from 2009 to 2013.

On March 24, 2012, Naya and Monteith co-hosted the 23rd Annual Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) Media Awards in New York City, New York, USA. On July 13, 2013, he was found dead  in his room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Monteith died from a mixed drug toxicity consisting of heroin and alcohol. He had codeine and morpheine in his system at the time of his death.
