Khamzat “Borz” Chimaev (Хамзат Чимаев), 26, of Stockholm, Sweden recently made two records in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. In 10 days, the undefeated Chechen-Swedish mixed martial artist won his first two fights in the promotion, both of which took place on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
This made Chimaev the MMA fighter with the fewest days between UFC appearances. He also holds the record of the fewest days between two wins in the promotion.
Training at AllStars Training Center in Stockholm, Chimaev made his UFC debut at “UFC on ESPN 13” took place on the UFC Fight Island on Yas Island on July 15, 2020 in the United States or July 16, 2020 in the UAE. He fought John “The Welsh Wrecking Machine” Phillips, 35, of Swansea, Wales in the middleweight division.
Herb Dean served as the referee. He put a stop to the middleweight contest after 1 minute and 12 seconds in the second round when Chimaev submitted Phillips via D’Arce choke.
Chimaev competed again on the UFC Fight Island at “UFC on ESPN 14” on July 25, 2020 in the U.S. or July 26, 2020 in the UAE. He fought Rhys “Skeletor” McKee, 24, of Ballymena, Northern Ireland in the welterweight division.
The welterweight contest was refereed by Rich Mitchell. He put a stop to the bout after 3 minutes and 9 seconds in the first round when Chimaev knocked out McKee via punches.
No Fight of the Night bonus was awarded at “UFC on ESPN 14.” There were six Performance of the Night winners namely Fabrício “Vai Cavalo” Werdum, 42, of Brazil, Paul “Bearjew” Craig, 32, of Scotland,Khamzat “Borz” Chimaev, 26, of Sweden, Jesse “The Body Snatcher” Ronson, 34, of Canada, Tom Aspinall, 27, of England and Tanner “The Bulldozer” Boser, 28, of Canada.

“UFC on ESPN 14” marked Chimaev’s eighth professional MMA bout. After two consecutive UFC wins, the AllStars Training Center representative now holds a professional MMA record of 8 wins and 0 loss.
Born May 1, 1994, Chimaev is of Chechen descent. He is a former wrestling champion in Sweden.
As an MMA fighter, Chimaev has been competing professionally since 2018. Before joining the UFC, he competed in the International Ring Fight Arena, Fight Club Rush and Brave Combat Federation.
