Mitchell Wesley Carlson is a white man from Minnesota, United States. He is allegedly the Umbrella Man, the man caught on video breaking glass at an Auto Zone store on East Lake Street in Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 27, 2020 amid one of the Black Lives Matter protests following George Floyd‘s death.

Using white spray paint, the man wrote the words “free s–t for everyone zone” on double red doors on the front of the AutoZone store. He used a sledgehammer to break all of the store’s front windows.

Soon after, looting started. A little later, the store was set on fire.

While carrying a black umbrella, the Umbrella Man was wearing a black hood, a black jacket, black pants, black shoes, black gloves and a black gas mask. His goal was to “sow discord and racial unrest by breaking out the windows and writing what he did on the double red doors,” a tipster told Arson investigator Erika Christensen.

When peaceful protesters confronted the Umbrella Man and questioned what he was doing, he did not identify himself. He was seen being confronted and followed by an African-American man named Elijah “EJ” Easley.

“I think he is the only one who said something bad to me, 99.9 percent or 100 percent,” said WCCO photojournalist Dymanh Chhoun, who claimed to have encountered the Umbrella Man during the protest. “No one said anything to me except for him. He was the only one.”

  1. I still don’t understand the umbrella though? If the purpose of dressing in all black was to be anonymous and not draw too much attention, a man holding an umbrella when it not raining while smashing windows would grab anyone’s attention and stay in memory.

    1. The umbrella is a symbol. Like a flag. That way his associates could watch him from blocks away. Keep the umbrella upright and open and that means you are okay. If you close the umbrella or it goes down that means you need help. Actually pretty simple. Also effective at blocking out pepper spray.

  2. This guy is a toolbox, but why the f are you doxxing his family? In that video, he acted alone. Until we have reason to believe any of them were involved, this is incredibly irresponsible and dangerous.

      1. Yeah what a tough bad ass racist, HA, Aryan Cowboy Brotherhood dude he can’t even take out a smaller Black man holding a pizza box all the time. Yo Black guy you are one cool dude who did a good deed. Hats off to the others who filmed the incident and condemned dorks actions. The HAs of America are notoriously racist. The HAers of Canada don’t wear nazi stuff and ppl like Gregory Wooley can be Pres. of a support club.

    1. This man’s family should be forced to declare publicly if they support or condemn their relative being a HA gang member and a Aryan Biker Cowboy in other words a criminal thug and a racist.

      1. Why? What do you think his family owes you? If the family broke a law, prosecute. If not, don’t. Either way, stop doxxing them.

  3. This family owes me nothing but I hope some Black radicals burn their racist , gangsta selves out or the Outlaws or the Mongols or some pissed off Muslims. They could have publicly rebuked their racist, violent , criminal, biker club HAMC Aryan dip relative but they chose not to .

  4. Exactly they keep putting the 2 clubs together even though it was one person who everyone said it was a cop then antifa or whatever
And then what is the 15 fun facts like his favorite band have to do with anything and yes then putting his family out there is bogus. I want all the names of the cops who killed floyd advertised too. It doesn’t even say he was charged from what i read so it seems like another reason to jump on the bandwagon from the first bogus story from Stillwater. And the same people on that bandwagon were sure not sorry bout any looting they did or bought stolen merchandise but nobody else is on full blast. Hmmm just sayin.

    1. You are free to post the names of the killer, fired ex-cop Clauvin and the other 3 cretins all you want. I don’t find either of these two stories to be bogus.

  5. Someone broke out windows? And you want to point the finger a specific individual? Then drag other “white supremacists” into the act of a lone individual? Then put a person’s family on blast?
Someone who has not been charged or convicted? Your just as bad as the fucking idiots dividing the nation. If someone told you to kill kittens and put a basket of kittens in front of you. Who’s choice is it? Let’s put your family on blast for birthing a fuck tard as yourself who continues the separation of Black and white etc. No I wouldn’t cuz it would make us as low as you. But keep smearing the names of HA and I’m sure they would have a field day with your ass .

    1. My name is Greg Carr look up my posts on HA/HAMC/Hell’s Angels/Big Red Machine on USENET and Google Groups. HAMC in America is 100% racist anti-Black. No Black biker can be a Hell’s Angel anywhere in the world because of the racism of the American chapters. Hell’s Angels are pimps, meth manufacturers and dealers, cocaine traffickers, extortionists, rapists, murderers, pedophiles, child porn sellers, hired killers, motorcycle stealers, and bombers and wife beaters. Mitchell Wesley Carlson is a convicted, violent criminal White Supremacist racist. His family which refuses to disown him deserves all the exposure that can be heaped upon them. I note you are afraid to use your real name.

  6. […] Numerous media outlets have reported that person is Mitchell Wesley Carlson, 32, a Minneapolis resident described as a “Hell’s Angels wannaba” and member of Aryan Cowboys, which the ADL describes as “a small white supremacist prison/street gang based primarily in Minnesota and Kentucky.” Carlson has a criminal record that includes convictions for brawling, assault, and making terroristic threats. 7. The umbrellas are a fairly common protest tool against riot police. See what happened in Hong Kong pro-democracy protests. Groups of people who don’t want only pro-establishment officials took to the streets in large groups. They use umbrellas to block the tear gas being hurled at them by police. A single umbrella may not be great, but in large groups the create a “canopy” above protesters so that they can even catch the tear gas and fling it back without touching it but flipping the umbrella inside out. In other words, yeah this white supremacist had the optics he need to look like a protester while intending to sow discord.

  8. After the Boogaloo arrests in Las Vegas and shootout in San Diego, with FBI estimates of the group activity in at least 30 cities that turned from peaceful protest to riot sites, there is no question that BLM and Antifa are being framed. There is no telling how many other groups are similarly active. Proud Bois, Trumpkreigers, Cowboy Aryans, take your pick.
Whether the Carlson family has the same feelings or not is irrelevant. It’s not right to drag them into it unless they are included in any indictment.
I’ve seen re-patched colors where one club was absorbed, affiliated, or merged with another but I’ve never heard of a guy with colors from 2 separate gangs or MC’s. In my state, disrespecting his colors could get him nailed to a tree.

    1. Yes the Boogaloos are a interesting phenomena from class clowns to hardcore cop killers. The Proud Boys in Canada last made the news when they got their butts kicked so bad at the Astoria Hotel in the DTES that the Vancouver Police Dept. had to rescue them. Here in the Lower Mainland shifting gang allegiances is regularly reported on. https://vancouversun.com/news/crime/brothers-battle-guilty-pleas-in-attack-that-signalled-split-in-brothers-keepers-gang/#:~:text=%E2%80%9CThe%20assault%20on%20Jitesh%20Vagh%20is%20indicative%20of,said.%20%E2%80%9CWe%E2%80%99ve%20seen%20it%20time%20and%20time%20again.

https://voiceonline.com/lower-mainland-gangs-landscape-loose-connections-and-very-loose-alliances-and-allegiances/ Hell’s Angel content. I have never seen a HAMC vest with any sign of support for another club. Seen Bacchus MC colours with HAMC support stuff but since their club president received a 15 year sentence years ago they are now a subsidiary of HAMC Inc.
