Yodkaikaew Fairtex earns 2nd ONE Championship win, beats Alex Schild at ‘ONE: A New Breed’ in Thailand

“Y2K” Yodkaikaew Fairtex, 29, of Bangkok, Thailand was one of the winners at “ONE: A New Breed” in Bangkok. The Thai mixed martial artist earned his second victory in the Singapore-based martial arts promotion ONE Championship.

Featuring three MMA and four Muay Thai fights, “ONE: A New Breed” took place in Bangkok on August 28, 2020. In the first bout of the evening, Yodkaikaew fought Alex Schild, 31, of Rockville, Maryland, United States in an MMA bout in the flyweight division.

Yodkaikaew dominated early with thunderous straights and hooks. Schild was able to take the action to the ground where he owned the grappling advantage but his Thai opponent escaped back mount and got back up to his feet.

In the second round, Yodkaikaew began unloading his powerful leg kicks, chopping away at Schild’s base constantly and by the third round, the American contender could no longer defend himself from the onslaught of leg kicks and the referee was forced to call a halt to the flyweight contest.
