Andrew Specksgoor is a police officer from Rochester, New York, United States. He was one of the seven Rochester Police Department officers suspended due to their involvement in the death of Daniel Prude, an African-American man from Chicago, Illinois, USA.

Suffering from mental health issues, Prude was in the custody of Vaughn and his fellow Rochester Police Department officers Mark Vaughn, Troy Taladay, Paul Ricotta, Francisco Santiago, Josiah Harris and Sergeant Michael Magri on March 23, 2020. When Prude was having an acute, manic, psychotic episode that day, his older brother Joe D. Prude called the police for help.

The cops’ encounter with Daniel ended with him being unresponsive and sent to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. He was taken off like support on March 30, 2020.

On September 3, 2020, Rochester mayor Lovely Warrenannounced that Specksgoor, Vaughn, Taladay, Ricotta, Santiago, Harris and Magri were suspended with pay. Here are 13 things about Specksgoor:

  1. He was born on May 19, 1987.
  2. He is 6’3″.
  3. He is a native of Ontario, New York.
  4. Among his relatives are Peter Specksgoor, Rachel Specksgoor, David Specksgoor and Debra Specksgoor.
  5. He is also lived in Virgina, USA particularly in Winchester and Cross Junction.
  6. He attended Bishop Kearney High School in Rochester.
  7. He played football and was an offensive lineman in high school.
  8. He joined the police force in 2011.
  9. He used to work for the Winchester Police Department in Winchester and was a member of the Community Response Team (CRT).
  10. He is certified in Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) and is a CIT trainer. On June 17, 2016, he and his fellow Winchester Police Department officers Scott Bultrowicz and Tyler Kalkbrenner graduated from their CIT at the Northwestern Community Services in Winchester.
  11. On July 17, 2018, he and his fellow Winchester Police Department officer Keith Nixon saved a suicidal man at the Berryville Avenue in Winchester, The Winchester Star reported.
  12. He, along with Harris and Magri, stood idly nearby while Daniel had his head  pushed down against the pavement by Vaughn, back kneeled on by Talladay and legs held by Santiago.
  13. He casually chatted and joked with Vaughn and Talladay while Daniel was dying.
