Fake engagement deals with any inauthentic interactions on Facebook. University of Michigan alumna Sophie Zhang is an expert on this.

Zhang worked for Facebook in Menlo Park, California, United States from January 2018 to September 2020. In particular, she served as the data scientist for the Facebook Site Integrity fake engagement team, which deals with inauthentic interactions on the social media site.
