Jason Michael Lata, 44, of Flower Mound, Texas, United States is originally from California, United States. He lived in various parts of California including Agoura Hills, Los Angeles, Marina del Rey, Oak Park, Pasadena, Tarzana and Topanga.

Lata is a supporter of Donald Trump, 74. On October 2, 2020, the 45th U.S. president was whisked by a helicopter from the White House in Washington, D.C., USA to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, USA after he tested positive for the new coronavirus (COVID-19).

At around 11:00 a.m. on October 3, 2020, Lata joined the Make America Great Again (MAGA) meet-up outside Buc-ee’s in Denton County. At around 12:40 p.m., he and his fellow supporters of Trump confronted Dan Royce Schochler III, 23, who was playing “FDT” (“F**k Donald Trump“), a protest song by Keenon Dequan Ray “YG” Jackson featuring Ermias Joseph “Nipsey Hussle” Asghedom.

In the parking lot of the store, Lata and his companions asked Schochler to stop playing “FDT” (“F**k Donald Trump”) on repeat. Lata yelled at Schochler at close range, “I’ll ask you, homeboy!”

“I’ll f**king eat your face off, mother f–ker!” Lata continued. “You want a f–king piece?”

“No, thank you,” Schochler replied. He was wearing a black glasses, a blue face mask and blue shirt while carrying a flag.

“Turn it off! I’ll f**k you up!” Lata yelled at Schochler again. After an argument in the parking lot, Lata sucker punched Schochler in the face and the latter fell to the ground.

“Get up, motherfucker!” Lata yelled after sucker-punching Schochler. The former was maskless and was in a red and brown Magpul cap and black shirt with a Libertarian snake emblem and the words “Don’t tread on me”

After attacking Schochler, Lata left the parking lot in a dark-colored Dodge Ram. On the evening of October 3, 2020, he was arrested and booked in the City of Denton Jail in Denton, Texas.

Bail for Lata was set at $15,000. He was charged with assault causing bodily injury.
