The victim, an African-American Hollywood actor, was walking home from a store. A $10,000 reward was offered for information leading to the gunman’s arrest.
  11. On October 14, 2020, the Atlanta Police Department obtained a warrant for his arrest on a felony murder charge based on evidence and tips from the public.
  12. In the morning of October 16, 2020, the Atlanta Police Department arrested him at the Royal Oaks Apartments in the 3500 block of North Camp Creek Parkway in Atlanta. He was unarmed, shirtless and was wearing red shorts with white stars when he was arrested.
  13. He was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Fulton County Jail. He was charged with felony murder in the death of Byrd.
