Brian Patrick Higgins is a white man from Wisconsin, United States. He was involved in the thwarted plot to kidnap Gretchen Whitmer, the 49th governor of Michigan, USA, while the U.S. is battling against the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Higgins helped the members of the militia group Wolverine Watchmen to plot the kidnapping. Here are 13 more things about him:

  1. He was born in 1969.
  2. He lives on a 20-acre site in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, which is known for its outdoor amusement parks and camping.
  3. He was politically active.
  4. He frequently attended town meetings in Newport, Wisconsin. The town’s supervisor Christopher Davis told The Detroit News, “He likes to keep up to date on what’s going on and comes to meetings. I would have never dreamt anything like this.”
  5. Aside from Wisconsin Dells, he lived in other areas of Wisconsin including Madison, Fitchburg, Portage and Mount Horeb.
  6. He lived in various parts of Indiana including Evansville and Fort Branch.
  7. He lived in Norway, Michigan.
  8. He provided Wolverine Watchmen members his night-vision goggles for the surveillance of Whitmer’s vacation home near Elk Rapids, Antrim County, Michigan.
  9. He used a mounted digital dash camera located in his vehicle to record the surveillance of the Whitmer’s house in order to aid in kidnapping plans.
  10. On October 15, 2020, he was arrested in Michigan.
  11. He was booked into the Columbia County Jail in Columbia County, Wisconsin while waiting for his extradition to Michigan for arraignment in Antrim County 86th District Court.
  12. He was charged with charged with material support of an act of terrorism.
  13. He was the eighth person charged by Dana Nessel, the 54th attorney general of Michigan, in relation the thwarted plot to kidnap Whitmer.
