Mark “Mugen” Striegl, 32, is the most recent Filipino mixed martial artist to sign with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Before him, several other MMA fighters from the Philippines or of Filipino descent also competed in the UFC including Brandon Vera.

Both Striegl and Vera are Filipino-American. Among the UFC opponents Vera defeated were Fabiano Scherner, Justin Eilers, Assuerio Silva, Frank Mir, Reese Andy, Michael Patt, Krzysztof Soszynski and Eliot Marshall.
