Alondra Mercado Campos, 19, was one of the three Miss Bolivia 2020 queens crowned at Estudio 5 de la Red UNO in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia on November 14, 2020. She hails from Beni, Bolivia.
Crowned Miss Bolivia Mundo 2020, Mercado will represent Bolivia in Miss World 2021. Lenka Nemer Drpić, 23, of La Paz and Carolina Fernández Menacho, 23, of Pando were crowned Miss Bolivia Universo 2020 and Miss Bolivia Internacional 2020, respectively.
There will be no Miss World in 2020 because of the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The 70th edition of the beauty pageant will take place in 2021.
If Mercado wins Miss World 2021, she will be the first Bolivian titleholder of the international beauty pageant. The last time a candidate from the country placed was in 2014 when Neidy Andrea Forfori Aguilera finished in the Top 25.
Carlos Rocabado and Desiree Durán hosted the Miss Bolivia 2020 coronation night, which featured performances by Queen G, Rafa So and JD. It was broadcast live by Red UNO.
It was the 41st edition of Miss Bolivia, which was founded in 1959. The 2020 edition was held with no in-person attendance due to the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Luz Elva “Luvi” Claros Gallardo, 25, of Cochabamba was first runner-up. María José Terrazas León, 23, of Santa Cruz, María José Arana Medina, 21, of Litotal, María José Hurtado Ferrufino, 21, of Santa Cruz, Estefanía de los Ríos Ruiz, 24, of Tarija and Teresa Sánchez Añez, 20, of Residentes were the respective first, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth runners-up.
A total of 21 candidates competed in Miss Bolivia 2020. The judges were Reina Hispanoamericana 2019 Regina Peredo, Reina Internacional de la Caña 1995 Carla Fonti, Señorita Litoral 1997 Karla Revollo, ENTEL Bolivia general manager Eddy Luis Franco, Santa Cruz de la Sierra mayor Angelica Sosa and plastic artist Olga Mireya García Rojas.
Before being crowned Miss Bolivia Mundo 2020, Mercado won two special awards. She received the Chica AmasZonas and Mejor Sonrisa Orest awards.
