The Republic of Cuba is one of the only four current Marxist-Leninist states in the world. The late Fidel Castro led the Cuban vanguard revolutionary organization called Movimiento 26 de Julio (26th of July Movement), which ousted dictator Fulgencio Batista on December 31, 1958.

Among the tourist sports in Cuba are Trinidad, Zapata Peninsula, Valle de Vinales, Habana Vieja, Jardines del Rey, Camaguey, Holguin, Baracoa and Santiago de Cuba. The Caribbean Sea, Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic Ocean meet in the location of the country.
