Niue is an island country in the South Pacific Ocean in Oceania. Commonly referred to as The Rock, the country is located in a triangle between Samoa, Tonga and the Cook Islands.
Since September 3, 1974, Niue has operated as a self-governing state in free association with New Zealand. On March 7, 2020, the International Dark Sky Association announced that Niue had become the first Dark Sky Preserve Nation.
Dalton Tagelagi, 52, is the incumbent premier of Niue. He assumed office on June 11, 2020.
