Besting 89 other candidates, Zozibini Tunzi, 27, of South Africa was crowned Miss Universe 2019 at Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, USA on December 8, 2019. She is the longest reigning Miss Universe.
Tunzi will pass her crown at the Miss Universe 2020 coronation night at 8:00 p.m. ET on May 16, 2021 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Broward County, Florida, USA. It has yet to be confirmed if Steve Harvey is returning as the main host.
Based in New York City, New York, USA, the Miss Universe Organization is currently owned by the WME/IMG talent agency. As of March 2, 2021, there are 67 Miss Universe 2020 candidates confirmed to compete to be Tunzi’s successor.
