Emma Avanesyan competed against 16 other Miss Universe Armenia 2024 candidates in Moscow, Russia on August 30, 2024. She was third runner-up to Irina Zakharova.
On October 22, 2024, Zakharova was dethroned due to citizenship issues. On October 26, 2024, Avanesyan was officially appointed as the new Miss Universe Armenia 2024.
Miss Universe Armenia 2025
On September 10, 2025, Avanesyan’s successor will be crowned in an undisclosed location. It is the seventh edition of the national beauty pageant that selects Armenia’s Miss Universe candidate.
Aside from the main title, three other titles will be given. Miss Armenia USA 2025, Miss Grand Armenia 2025 and Miss Cosmo Armenia 2025 will be chosen via online votes.

Armenia has yet to place in Miss Universe. Gohar Harutunyan was the Miss Universe Armenia national director from 2018 to 2022 and was replaced by Yuliia Pavlikova in 2024 and Edgar Saakyan in 2025.
On October 5, 2024, Lilia Gzraryan represented Armenia at Miss Cosmo 2024, competed against 55 other candidates at the Saigon Riverside Park in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and was unplaced. On October 25, 2024, Haykanush Mkrtchyan represented Armenia at Miss Grand International 2024, competed against 67 other candidates at the MGI Hall in Bangkok, Thailand and was unplaced.
On November 16, 2024, Avanesyan represented Armenia at Miss Universe 2024, competed against 124 other candidates at the Arena Ciudad de México (Arena CDMX) in Azcapotzalco, Mexico City, Mexico and was unplaced. Armenia was represented Miss Universe by Eliza Muradyan (Էլիզա Մուրադյան) in 2018, Dayana Davtyan (Դայանա Դավթյան) in 2019, Monika Grigoryan (Մոնիկա Գրիգորյան) in the 2020 edition, Nane Avetisyan (Նանե Ավետիսյան) in 2021 and Kristina Ayanian (Քրիստինա Այանյան) in 2022.
