Maria Fernanda Beltran of Sinaloa, Mexico won Miss Universe Mexico 2024 at the Canciones Convention Center in Cancún, Quintana Roo, Mexico on September 5, 2024. Aranza Molina of Tabasco, Karen Bustos of San Luis Potosí, Lorena Sevilla of Colima and Mariana Macías of Michoacán were the respective first, second, third and fourth runners-up.

On September 13, 2025, Beltran will crown her successor at the Sala Plácido Domingo of the Conjunto Santander de Artes Escénicas in Zapopan, Jalisco, Mexico. It is the second edition of the national beauty pageant that selects the country’s Miss Universe candidate.

Jacqueline Bracamontes, Gaby Ramírez and Mauricio Mancera will host the coronation ceremony. Clovis Nienow, Cynthia Rodriguez, Dr. Juan Carlos Arellano, Pepe Medel, Tenay Rodriguez and Zuleyka Rivera will serve as judges.

A total of 32 women are competing for the Miss Universe Mexico 2025 title. If facial beauty is the only criterion, these will be my Top 5 candidates:

Mexico was represented in Miss Universe by Señorita México from 1952 to 1994, Nuestra Belleza Mexico from 1995 to 2014, in 2016 and in 2017 and Mexicana Universal from 2018 to 2023. In 2024, the franchise was transferred to Miss Universe Mexico.

Currently, Mexico has 21 Miss Universe placements including the coronation of Lupita Jones in 1991, Ximena Navarrete in 2010 and Andrea Meza in the 2020 edition in 2021. The most recent one was achieved by Beltran.

On November 16, 2024, Beltran represented Mexico at Miss Universe 2024 and competed against 124 other candidates at the Arena Ciudad de México (Arena CDMX) in Azcapotzalco, Mexico City, Mexico. She was second runner-up to Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark.
