Miss Michigan USA 2020 Chanel Johnson, 26, of Southfield, Michigan, United States will crown her successor at the McMorran Entertainment Center in Port Huron, Michigan on August 7, 2021. It will be the 70th edition of the state-level beauty pageant that selects Michigan’s candidate for Miss USA, which selects the Miss Universe candidate of the U.S.
Currently, Michigan has 26 Miss USA placements including three winners. Representing the state, Carole Gist, Kenya Moore and Rima Fakih were crowned Miss USA in 1990, 1993 and 2010, respectively.
Gist was runner-up to Miss Universe 1990 Mona Grudt of Norway. Moore finished in the Top 6 at Miss Universe 1993 while Fakih was unplaced at Miss Universe 2010.
