  8. On January 6, 2021, he used a Glock-22 to fire one shot, striking Ashli Babbitt, 35, in the shoulder as she tried to climb through one of the glass doors leading into the lobby of the House of Representatives chamber inside U.S. Capitol building. She was one of the rioters who breached the building that day. She fell to the ground and later died from her injuries. After the shooting, he remained in Maryland on paid administrative leave.

Nevertheless, neither the U.S. Department of Justice nor the U.S. Capitol Police officially released his name.
  12. On August 26, 2021, NBC aired his “NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt” interview, marking the first time he was officially identified as the police officer who shot Babbitt on January 6, 2021.
  13. He was 56 years old when Babbitt’s family filed on January 5, 2024 in federal court in San Diego, California, USA a $30 million wrongful-death lawsuit against the U.S. government.

    1. That piece of shit should not be among the living. He is a murderer. I give not a damn that the government says it was a legal shooting. IT was not. To murder an unarmed woman like this has no honor. A tall tree and a short rope.

    1. If a bunch of people were breaking down your door or smashing the windows at your home or office and you shot them I don’t think you would agree you should be locked up. If a white cop shot a black person under similar circumstances would you say that cop should be locked up? I don’t think so.

      1. Hardly the same scenario, Lawrence. Ashli was admitted in the front door. Typical liberal stupidity. Congratulations idiot.

  2. He discharged his piece into a crowd of unarmed civilians … he was not in any danger at that point … he had a line of officers in front of him … he shot OVER their heads into the crowd, putting their lives in danger … he didn’t use discretion he showed reckless abandon … he should be in jail and prosecuted for the shooting of Ashli Babbitt … Byrd is NOT the victim….

    1. Are you kidding me? He wasn’t in any danger. Hundreds of people were breaking down the door and they would have overwhelmed the few police officers. People were getting smashed to pieces in other areas and you think they were not in any kind of danger? If hundreds of people came to your house and tried to break in and were smashing in the doors and windows of the house would you have shot them if you had a gun? Damn straight you would have. And did you same the same about Michael Chauvin when he killed George Floyd? Now that was a situation where the cop truly wasn’t in any danger.

      1. People were getting smashed to pieces??? You are a liar and an idiot Larry. If a white cop did this to a black person in the same situation you a-holes would have convicted him by now. Face it Libtard Larry – you people play by a different set of rules and it’s about to end

  3. If Byrd must make an ‘easy’ name for himself why the ‘head ‘ shot on an unarmed lady. If he must shoot someone for God sake go for the body.

  4. funny how Byrd chose an unarmed white female to shoot instead of the two men next to her who actually did the break-in of the windows . total coincidence that the FBI cannot-or will not- identify the one wearing the grey skullcap & red jacket who encouraged Zachary Alam to ultimately break the glass.
why do I get the suspicion that Mr grey skullcap was a government agent known as such to Byrd ,which is why the cop shot Ashley just after she punched one of those men for breaking the glass?

  5. Byrd is a criminal. This horrible administration is bringing our republic down, down, down. And what is so amazing is the number of mindless sheep who support this miserable Biden group.

  6. When good men do nothing, evil persists. This is evil, and good men did nothing. Cowardice, or not, nothing was done. Time was shit like this wasn’t tolerated. And others are right; if a white man had shot a black woman, all hell would break loose. Time for that hell to be let loose as same. Otherwise, this will happen again.

  7. I would love to see a video of the shooting. But without that I’m 90% sure officer Byrd is guilty of jumping the gun, (pun intended). If this shooting was legit there would be dead ANTIFA in every city. Also why didn’t any other Cap. Police feel the need to shoot protesters? I’m also sure the Govt. had undercover agents stirring up the crowd. This wasn’t a bunch of people breaking down my or your front door, this was a protest on public property maybe ill advised but… I’m sad that the FBI has completely sold their soul to the democrats. They don’t even pretend any more. A few years ago I considered them to be the top police agency in the world now they’re just a strong arm of the democrats.

  8. Michael Leroy Byrd is the murderer of Ashley Babbitt. It is common knowledge you can simply google his name and his current address will come up. I would post it here, but I don’t want to be incarcerated for doing that. You see, the FBI protects it’s left wing officers to the maximum level. I am a retired Law Enforcement Officer, and there is absolutely no way in heck that was a legal shooting. He didn’t even give an order to get back one time, and there were riot police just feet away from Ashley when he killed her. This man is a complete idiot and deserves neither promotion or to even be seeing the light of day! If I left my service weapon in a public restroom when I was on duty, I would have been terminated. He was caught bragging nothing will happen to me because I am an African American Lieutenant. He was right! Now he has got away with murdering an unarmed woman, a veteran no less. The town of residence posted here is correct according to search people. You can actually get his residence online for free if you want to by simply using Google. Be nice now, and don’t break any laws or hurt anybody because everybody doesn’t have equal protection under the law!

  9. I keep hearing about “white” privilege, but I promise you if this cowardly male sex organ was white, he would have a cell like Derek Chauvin.

  10. What a disgusting piece of cow dung. She had her hands up and he shot Ashley in the face. If this was a white cop shooting a black war veteran Nancy pelosi would be inciting a public execution. He should be on trial for murder and then the electric chair.
