Christopher John “Chris” Laundrie, 62, and Roberta Maria Vinci Laundrie, 55, of North Port, Florida, United States would have been the parents-in-law of Gabrielle “Gabby” Petito, 22, of Blue Point, Long Island, New York, USA. Petito is the daughter of Joseph “Joe” Petito, 42, of Vero Beach, Florida and Nichole Durivou Schmidt, 43, of Blue Point.
In 2019, Gabby started dating Chris and Roberta’s son Brian Laundrie, 23. Gabby moved from Blue Point to North Port and lived with Brian, Chris and Roberta. An aspiring travel blogger, Gabby started her cross-country camping trip with Brian on July 2, 2021.
Brian and Gabby travelled across the U.S. in a white 2012 Ford Transit van and visited different places including Moab, Utah, USA and Teton County, Wyoming, USA. On September 1, 2021, he drove the van back to North Port without her.
On September 11, 2021, Schmidt reported Gabby missing. On September 15, 2021, the North Port Police Department named Brian a person of interest in the investigation.
On September 17, 2021, Chris and Roberta reported Brian missing. On September 19, 2021, Gabby was found deceased at the Spread Creek Dispersed Camping Area in the Bridger-Teton National Forest on the east boundary of Grand Teton National Park in Teton County.
“May Gabby Rest In Peace,” Chris and Roberta said in a one-sentence statement to E! News. The couple is still mum about Brian’s disappearance.

Since Chris and Roberta reported Brian missing, the North Port Police Department has been searching the T. Mabry Carlton Jr. Memorial Reserve, also known as the Carlton Reserve, in Florida. On September 22, 2021, the air search team and the Sheriff’s Underwater Recovery Force of Sarasota County joined the effort.
Chris is the president of Juicer Services, a North Port-based company that sells and services commercial juicing equipment. Roberta is the vice president.
