Philippines, Puerto Rico, India have the best Miss Universe 2021 national candidates

The Philippines, Puerto Rico and India have the most competitive groups of Miss Universe 2021 national aspirants so far. Coincidentally, these two countries and one commonwealth will crown their respective national candidates on September 30, 2021.

At Miss Universe 2020 in Hollywood, Florida, United States on May 16, 2021, Rabiya Mateo, 24, of the Philippines and Estefania Soto, 28, of Puerto Rico finished in the Top 21 and the Top 10, respectively while Adline Castelino, 23, of India was third runner-up. Coincidentally, Mateo’s father is Indian-American.

Soto will crown her successor at the Luis A. Ferré Performing Arts Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico. There are 26 women competing for the Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2021 title.

Among the candidates is Miss Intercontinental 2016 Heilymar Rosario Velazquez, 25, of Toa Baja. Among her strongest competitions are Gabriela Sofía Muñoz Lugo, 25, of Isabela, Génesis Oliver Santiago, 23, of Vega Baja, Sthephanie Marie Miranda Morales, 27, of Trujillo Alto and Marangelí Meléndez, 24, of Cidra.

Castelino will crown her successor at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Mumbai, India. There are 20 finalists competing for the Miss Universe India 2021 title, including Harnaaz Sandhu, 25, of Chandigarh and Siddhi Gupta, 25, of Delhi, who both finished in the Top 12 at Femina Miss India 2019.

Also competing are Miss Teen International 2018 Ritika Khatnani, 19, of Pune and Miss Diva 2015 second runner-up Naveli Deshmukh, who also finished in the Top 10 at Miss Femina Miss India 2015. Among their strongest competitions are Sachi Kudale, 21, of Pune, Anaika Nair, 24, of Mumbai and Ankita Singh, 22, of Kolkata.

Mateo will crown her successor at the Henann Resort Convention Center at the Alona Beach in Panglao, Bohol, Philippines. There are 28 finalists competing for the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 title.

The candidate to beat is Miss Supranational 2018 first runner-up Katrina Jayne Dimaranan, 28, of Taguig. Her strongest competitions are Victoria Velasquez Vincent, 26, of Cavite, Steffi Aberasturi, 27, of Cebu Province, Kirsten Delavin, 22, of Masbate, “Asia’s Next Top Model” Season 5 winner Maureen Wroblewitz, 23, of Pangasinan and Miss Globe 2019 second runner-up Leren Mae Bautista, 28, of Laguna.

Miss Universe 2021 will be crowned in Eilat, Israel in December 2021. This will make Miss Universe 2020 Andrea Meza, 27, of Mexico the Miss Universe with the shortest reign.

For Puerto Rico, my personal favorite is Marangeli Melendez and I believe she will win. For India, my personal favorite is Sachi Kudale but I predict that Ankita Singh will win.

For the Philippines, my personal favorite is Victoria Velasquez Vincent. However, Katrina Dimaranan appears to be the most likely to win.
