Who is Chantel O’Brian?

Chantel O’Brianis a Haitian-Bahamian etiquette coach and beauty queen born and raised in Nassau, Bahamas. She represented the Bahamas in Miss World and Miss Universe.

A Haitian immigrant’s daughter, O’Brian serves as a Creole translator for the Haitian community on her island. An experienced social media coordinator, she is an expert in planning, implementing and monitoring company’s social media strategy to increase brand awareness, improve marketing efforts and increase sales.

Aside from Nassau, O’Brian has lived in other parts of the Bahamas including Ocean Cay. She is an alumna of Edinburgh Napier University in Edinburgh, Scotland.

  1. On September 8, 2023, she competed against seven other Miss Bahamas Universe 2013 candidates at the Atlantis Theatre on Paradise Island, Bahamas. She was runner-up to Lexi Wilson.
  2. From December 2013 to December 2016, she worked for Diamonds International in the Bahamas as a sales associate.
  3. On August 3, 2014, she represented Ocean Cay at Miss World Bahamas 2014 and competed against six other candidates at the Atlantis Grand Ballroom on Paradise Island. She was second runner-up to Rosetta Cartwright.
  4. On September 14, 2015, she competed against five other Miss World Bahamas 2015 candidates at the Atlantis Paradise Theatre in Nassau and won the title.
  5. On December 19, 2015, she represented the Bahamas at Miss World 2015 and competed against 149 other candidates in Sanya, China. She was unplaced.
  6. From December 2016 to December 2019, she worked for Aliv in the Bahamas as a social media coordinator.
  7. In February 2018, she founded P.S. O’Brian Consulting. Based in Nassau, the company offers several services including social business coaching, etiquette coaching, pageant training and social media management.
  8. In November 2019, she graduated from Edinburgh Napier University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in business enterprise.
  9. On October 3, 2021, she represented New Providence at Miss Bahamas Universe 2021and competed against three other finalists at the Grand Salon in Rosewood, Bahamas. She won the title.
  10. On December 13, 2021, she represented the Bahamas at Miss Universe 2021 and competed against 79 other candidates in Eilat, Israel. She finished in the Top 10, making her the first person representing the Bahamas to place in Miss Universe.
  11. In January 2022, she joined the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism as a marketing coordinator.
  12. On July 31, 2022, she crowned her successor Miss Bahamas Universe 2022 Angel Cartwright at the Atlantis Showroom on Paradise Island.
  13. On January 5, 2024, she turned 30.
