Miss Universe Australia 2020 Maria Thattil, 26, of Victoria, Australia will crown her successor at Sofitel Melbourne on Collins in Melbourne, Victoria on October 19, 2021. It will be the 17th edition of the national beauty pageant that selects Australia’s Miss Universe candidate.

Currently, Australia has 20 Miss Universe placements including two crowns. Representing the Oceanian country, Kerry Anne Wells and Jennifer Hawkins won the title in 1972 and 2004, respectively.

Thattil was crowned Miss Universe Australia 2020 on October 28, 2020 at Sofitel Melbourne on Collins. She finished in the Top 10 at Miss Universe 2020 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, United States on May 16, 2021.
