The Plurinational State of Bolivia is a landlocked country in South America. It is bordered by Brazil to the north and east, Peru to the northwest, Paraguay to the southeast, Chile to the southwest and Argentina to the south.

On August 6, 1925, Bolivia declared its independence from Spain, which was recognized on July 21, 1847. On November 14, 1945, Bolivia was admitted to the United Nations.

Luis “Lucho” Arce, 58, is the incumbent and 67th president of Bolivia. He assumed office on November 8, 2020.
