The Cook Islands is a self-governing island country in Oceania. Comprising 15 islands, the country is located in the South Pacific Ocean between French Polynesia and American Samoa.
Named after British explorer James Cook, the Cook Islands attained full internal self-government in free association with New Zealand on August 4, 1965. Cook Islands nationals are New Zealand citizens but not vice versa.
Mark Brown is the incumbent and 12th prime minister of the Cook Islands. He assumed office on October 1, 2020.
