West Asia is surrounded by the Aegean Sea, the Black Sea, the Caspian Sea, the Persian Gulf, the Arabian Sea, the Gulf of Aden, the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea. The region is almost entirely a part of the Middle East.

The Middle East has 16 United Nations members namely Bahrain, Cyprus, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen. Palestine, Northern Cyprus and Akrotiri and Dhekelia are also in the Middle East.

The entire Middle East plus Abkhazia, Armenia, Artsakh, Azerbaijan, Georgia and South Ossetia equals West Asia. Here is the 2021 list of the 22 most handsome living men of West Asian descent or either born or residing in the region:
