Carlos Aguirre Rendon, 29, of Longwood, Seminole County, Florida, United States has been arrested. He is a father of two and a math teacher at Deltona Middle School in Deltona, Volusia County, Florida.
Rendon is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a female Deltona Middle School student. On January 7, 2022, he was in a classroom with her and two other students when he allegedly asked the two other students to leave, pulled her mask down and kissed her on the lips.
On January 11, 2022, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office received a report about the incident. The girl’s mother said she had seen Rendon with his arm around her daughter at a park in Deltona prior to the incident.

Rendon and the girl allegedly had discussed having a relationship once she turned 18. When he noticed that she was struggling with the English subject, he offered himself as a private tutor, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office has learned.
The girl denied any sexual contact between her and Rendon prior to the kissing incident. After being informed about the allegations, the Deltona Middle School administration transferred her out of his class and advised him not to return to the school while the investigation is ongoing.
On February 1, 2022, Volusia County Sheriff’s Office deputies learned that Rendon had been approaching potential witnesses at Firefighters Memorial Park in Deltona. He allegedly asked about the girl he kissed and told at least one witness not to talk to the police.
On February 2, 2022, Rendon was arrested and charged with lewd or lascivious conduct and witness tampering. He was released after posting a $12,500 bond.
