Jamel Duquon Flint, 24, of Roanoke, Virginia, United States has been arrested. He is accused of fatally shooting Isiah O. Robinson, 18, of Roanoke.

Robinson was a student of Patrick Henry High School in Roanoke. He was a member of the school’s football team as a linebacker and a running back.

At around 11:53 p.m. on February 4, 2022, Flint allegedly opened fire at the Melody Hookah Lounge in Blacksburg, Virginia. The gunshots killed Robinson and wounded four others including a male student of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg.

While Robinson was declared dead at the scene, the four wounded victims were rushed to the hospital. The Virginia Tech student is expected to recover.

The motive for the shooting has yet to be publicly announced. On the evening of February 5, 2022, Flint was taken into custody without incident.

Flint will be charged with one count of murder in the first degree, one count of use of a firearm while committing or attempting to commit murder and four counts of attempted murder in the first degree. Although he has been arrested, the case is still an open investigation, according to the Blacksburg Police Department.
