Miss International 2019 Sireethorn Leearamwat (สิรีธร ลีห์อร่ามวัฒน์), 27, of Thailand was supposed to crown her successor at Pacifico Yokohama in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan in November 2021. However, it was cancelled due to the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The 60th edition of the international beauty pageant based in Japan and organized by the International Culture Association will be held in 2022. On August 31, 2021, International Cultural Association chairperson Akemi Shimomura explained, “Taking into consideration the health and safety issues, as well as the ongoing global impact caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we have come to a conclusion to cancel this year’s Miss International 2021 pageant, which was originally scheduled to be held this fall.”
“We would like to express our deepest regret especially to the participants from all over the world and to all those who have been supporting our event every year,” Shimomura continued. “We humbly ask for your understanding in light of this unusual circumstance which is beyond our control.”

Crowned on November 12, 2019, Leearamwat was not able to crown her successor in 2020 due to COVID-19. This makes the Thai beauty queen the longest reigning Miss International titleholder.
Runner-up to Leearamwat was Andrea Toscano, 22, of Mexico. Evelyn Namatovu Karonde, 25, of Uganda, Alejandra Vengoechea, 23, of Colombia and Harriotte Lane, 20, of the United Kingdom were the respective second, third and fourth runners-up.
