Malay, Aklan, Philippines has a land area of 66.01 square kilometers. The municipality was founded on June 15, 1949.

Both Don Ciriaco Tirol Memorial Hospital and Malay Municipal Hospital are serving Malay. The municipality is home to Boracay National High School, Caticlan Academy Foundation, Lamberto H. Tirol National High School and Malay National High School.

Malay is one of 17 municipalities of Aklan. The municipality has 17 barangays namely Argao, Balabag, Balusbos, Cabulihan, Caticlan, Cogon, Cubay Norte, Cubay Sur, Dumlog, Malay, Nabaoy, Sambiray, Manoc-Manoc, Motag, Naasog, Napaan and Yapak.

Boracay is situated within Balabag, Manoc-Manoc and Yapak. The Panay Bukidnon and Ati people originally inhabited the resort island but they have been severely marginalized since the 1970s due to commercial development.

Serving Malay, the Godofredo P. Ramos Airport is one of the busiest airports in the Philippines. It was named after Godofredo Peralta Ramos, the governor of Aklan from 1959 to 1961.

Ramos turned 65 on November 8, 1976. He died on July 17, 1977.
