The Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines has two independent cities namely Ormoc and Tacloban and six provinces namely Biliran, Eastern Samar, Leyte, Northern Samar, Samar and Southern Leyte. Tacloban is geographically located in Leyte but independent from the province.

On July 10, 2019, Chelsea Fernandez represented Tacloban at Miss Philippines Earth 2019 and competed against 39 other candidates at The Cove of Okada Manila, in Parañaque, Metro Manila, Philippines. She ranked third and was crowned Miss Philippines Water 2019.
On August 18, 2019, Jasmine Marie Eaton represented Tacloban at Mutya ng Pilipinas 2019 and competed against 39 other candidates at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila. She was unplaced.
Representing Tacloban, Nepheline Dacuno was selected as one of the 50 semifinalists of Miss Universe Philippines 2021. She was not included in the list of Top 30 finalists, which was released on August 31, 2021.
On October 3, 2021, Natasha Jung represented Tacloban at Miss World Philippines 2021 and competed against 44 other candidates at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center in Olongapo, Philippines. She finished in the Top 24.
