Naga is the only independent city in the Bicol Region of the Philippines. The region has six provinces namely Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Masbate and Sorsogon.
La Ciudad de Nueva Caceres was founded in 1575 and renamed Naga in 1919. It is geographically located in Camarines Sur but independent from the province.
