Miss Iowa USA 2021 Katie Wadman, 22, of Des Moines, Iowa, United States will crown her successor at the Des Moines Marriott Downtown in Des Moines on May 21, 2022. It is the 70th edition of the state-level beauty pageant that selects Iowa’s candidate for Miss USA, which selects the Miss Universe candidate of the U.S.
Currently, Iowa has 10 Miss USA placements including the coronation of Carol Morris in 1956 and the fifth runner-up finish of Carlyn Bradarich in 2014. The most recent one was in 2019 when Baylee Drezek finished in the Top 15.
Wadman was crowned Miss Iowa USA 2021 at the Des Moines Marriott Downtown in Des Moines on May 8, 2021. Representing Iowa, she was unplaced at Miss USA 2021 at the Paradise Cove Theater of the River Spirit Casino Resort in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA on November 29, 2021.
