On July 17, 2021, Perea competed against 19 other Miss District of Columbia USA 2021 candidates at the Carpenter Theatre in Richmond, Virginia, United States. She won the title.
On June 4, 2022, Perea crowned her successor Faith Maria Porter at the Renaissance Washington, DC Downtown Hotel in Northwest, Washington, D.C.,USA. The latter will represent the district at Miss USA 2022.
