Umar Nurmagomedov biography: 13 things about UFC fighter from Dagestan, Russia


Umar Magomednabievich Nurmagomedov (Умар Нурмагомедов) is an Avar and an undefeated mixed martial artist born in Kizilyurt, Dagestan, Russia. He and undefeated Dagestani MMA fighter Khabib Abdulmanapovich Nurmagomedov (Хабиб Абдулманапович Нурмагомедов) are cousins.

Umar is 5’8″ tall and he competes in the featherweight division. His brother Usman Nurmagomedov is also an MMA fighter.

At age 26, Umar made his Ultimate Fighting Championship debut in 2021. He competed in Fight Nights Global from 2016 to 2018, Samara MMA Federation in 2018, Professional Fighters League in 2018 and 2019 and Gorilla Fighting Championships in 2019.

Amid the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Umar went on hiatus in 2020. Here are 13 more things about him:
