“Dana White’s Contender Series 2022” Week 1 will be held at the UFC Apex in Enterprise, Las Vegas Valley, Clark County, Nevada, United States on July 26, 2022. It will feature five mixed martial arts bouts.
In the main event of the evening, Osman “Ozzy” Diaz, 31, of Los Angeles, California, USA will face Joseph “Bodybagz” Pyfer, 25, of Media, Pennsylvania USA. They will battle it out in the middleweight division.
Diaz is the reigning Legacy Fighting Alliance Middleweight Champion. He earned the title after knocking out Bruno “Brunao” Assis, 30, of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil via punches at “LFA 127” at The Commerce Casino and Hotel in Los Angeles on March 25, 2022.
After Diaz’s professional MMA debut in 2015, he went on hiatus in 2016 and competed in Fight Club OC in 2017 and in 2018. In 2019, he won two bouts in Bellator MMA.
Before “LFA 127”, Diaz had two LFA wins. He currently holds a professional MMA record of 7 wins and 1 loss.
On the other hand, Pyfer has 8 wins and 2 losses. He made his professional MMA debut in 2018.
On August 11, 2020, Dustin Stoltzfus, 30, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania defeated Pyfer via technical knockout via elbow injury at “Dana White’s Contender Series 2020” Week 2 at the UFC Apex in Enterprise. On December 17, 2021, Pyfer knocked out Austin Trotman, 31, of Wilmington, North Carolina via punch at “Cage Fury Fighting Championships 104” at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA.
