“UFC 280” is one of the most anticipated events of the Ultimate Fighting Championship in 2022. Both of the main event and the co-main event are title bouts.
Featuring 12 mixed martial arts bouts, “UFC 280” will take place at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, United Arab Emirates on October 22, 2022 in the UAE or October 23, 2022 in the United States. One of the 24 fighters on the card holds an undefeated professional MMA record.
Before fight night, several bouts originally included on the “UFC 280” card were cancelled. Still, it remains one of the best cards of the UFC in 2022 so far.
Represented in the event are 11 countries namely Brazil, Canada, France, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, the United States and Uzbekistan. Interestingly, there is no match between a Russian fighter and a Ukrainian fighter on the card.

Will Charles Oliveira and Aljamain Sterling win?
As a former UFC Lightweight Champion, Oliveira is considered the overwhelming favorite when he takes on Makhachev for the vacant UFC Lightweight Championship. Currently, he is ranked the number 1 contender in the UFC’s lightweight division.
On the other hand, Makhachev is ranked number 4. He is the underdog but his supporters are expecting him to follow the footsteps of his mentor Khabib Nurmagomedov, who held the UFC Lightweight Championship from April 7, 2018 to March 19, 2021.
When it comes to the title bout between Dillashaw and Sterling, more MMA fans are expecting the defending champion to win. The challenger is currently ranked the number 2 contender in the UFC’s bantamweight division.
“UFC 280” marks Sterling’s second defense as the UFC Bantamweight Champion. He successfully defended the title on April 9, 2022 from Petr Yan, 29, of Russia.
