Anthony Williams, 49, of Adel, Cook County, Georgia, United States is the former police chief in Willacoochee, Atkinson County, Georgia. Aside from Adel, he has lived in other parts of Georgia including Valdosta and Ray City.
While employed as the chief of the Willacoochee Police Department, Williams allegedly burglarized a home on October 11, 2022. On October 31, 2022, the Alapaha Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office requested the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to conduct an investigation regarding his actions.
On October 29, 2022, the Willacoochee Police Department suspended Williams. On October 31, 2022, he was terminated and replaced by Frankie Sanchez, the department’s assistant chief.
On November 2, 2022, Williams turned himself in. He was charged with burglary.
Williams was booked into the Atkinson County Jail in Pearson, Atkinson County. He has posted a $5,000 bond.
In other news, Mica’enya Jordan, 19, of Douglas, Coffee County, Georgia, Roderick Hillman, 17, of Douglas, Ashton Hamilton, 18, of Pearson and Isaiah Wright, 17, of Douglas were arrested in June 2022. They were accused of being involved in armed robberies in Pearson and Willacoochee.
Hamilton, Hillman and Wright were each charged with armed robbery. Jordan was charged with criminal attempt to commit a felony (armed robbery).
