Steven Victor Abreu, 30, of Salisbury, Wicomico County, Maryland, United States previously lived in Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania, USA. In June 2022, he became a Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office deputy.
At around 1:10 a.m. on October 26, 2022, Abreu allegedly sexually assaulted a woman, 27, in the parking lot of a Kohl’s Department Store in Salisbury. He was allegedly in full uniform at the time.
On October 28, 2022, Abreu pulled over the victim while she was driving home from work. He allegedly told her not to tell anyone about their interactions.
On October 30, 2022, the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from the victim about her interactions with Abreu. As a result of an investigation, he was terminated.
Abreu was taken into custody and ordered held without bond. He was charged with false imprisonment, sexual contact while a person is in law enforcement custody, second-degree assault, second-degree rape, fourth-degree sexual offense and three counts of misconduct in office.
On October 31, 2022, Abreu will attend a bond hearing before a district court judge. On November 29, 2022, he will attend a preliminary hearing in Wicomico District Court.

Actors Alexis Denisof, 56, and Jessica Lee Rose, 35, were both born in Salisbury. The city is home to Salisbury University, which was founded in 1975.
