Angel Cartwright biography: 13 things about Miss Bahamas Universe 2022

Angel J. Cartwright is a Bahamian banker, author, conservationist and beauty queen. She is from Long Island, Bahamas.

As an island girl, Cartwright enjoyed boating, fishing and snorkeling growing up. Here are 13 more things about her:
  1. As a conservation ambassador, she hosts interactive presentations discussing the devastating effects of climate change and the ways the Bahamas can become more environmentally focused.
  2. From 2011 to 2015, she attended the University of the Bahamas in Nassau, Bahamas where she earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration.
  3. In September 2012, the Bahamas Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture issued her youth leadership certification.
  4. From January 2014 to May 2015, she was a member of Toastmasters International.
  5. In July 2014, she served as a kid camp activities volunteer at the Camp De La Grace of Haiti in Pignon, Haiti.
  6. From 2015 to 2016, she attended the College of Business of Florida International University in Miami, Florida, United States where she earned her master’s degree in business administration.
  7. In May 2017, she joined Bahamas National Trust as a member and a spokesperson. From May 2017 to July 2019, she served as a fundraising assistant at Sir Victor Sassoon Heart Foundation.
  8. From August 2017 to October 2017, she was a trust and fiduciary apprentice at Butterfield Group in the Bahamas.
  9. On May 27, 2018, she represented Long Island at Miss World Bahamas 2018 and competed against nine other candidates at the Imperial Ballroom – Atlantis on Paradise Island, Bahamas. She finished in the Top 6.
  10. In August 2018, the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) issued her certification as an open water diver. From August 2018 to December 2019, she worked for a private bank in the Bahamas as a broker sales associate.
  11. From September 2020 to June 2020, she worked for Equity Bank and Trust Bahamas Limited in the Bahamas as a front office banking officer.
  12. On July 31, 2022, she represented Long Island at Miss Bahamas Universe 2022 and competed against eight other candidates at the Atlantis Showroom on Paradise Island. She won the title.
  13. She was 28 years old when she represented the Bahamas at Miss Universe 2022 on January 14, 2023 and competed against 83 other candidates at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. She was unplaced.
