US Marshals arrest Kenneth Alan Stout in Wilmington, North Carolina; What did he do to Jolo, West Virginia’s Barbara Baker?

Barbara Ann Baker of Jolo, McDowell County, West Virginia, United States has died. She was 53.

Baker was preceded in death by her husband Leslie Baker. She was born in Welch, McDowell County to Sammy Hess and Linda Hagerman Hess.

On April 1, 2023, Baker was found dead in a car on Beartown Branch Road in McDowell County. She was killed allegedly by Kenneth Alan Stout, 63, who was not living in McDowell County at the time of her death.

Stout is 5’7″ and he weighs around 160 pounds. He is believed to frequent Jacksonville, Duval County, Florida, USA; Bristol, Sullivan County, Tennessee, USA and Kingsland, Camden County, Georgia, USA.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, Stout frequents predominantly black and Baptist churches. He is likely representing himself as a handy man or a contractor.

Seeking financial support, South allegedly claims that his wife was unfaithful to him or she just died from cancer. He has an extensive criminal history in McDowell County and Mercer County, West Virginia on domestic-related charges.

On May 5, 2023, the U.S. Marshals Service announced that a reward for information leading to Stout’s capture has increased to $15,000. He is described as very dangerous and manipulative.

On May 6, 2023, an off-duty New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office deputy spotted Stout and recognized him from his wanted poster. The deputy contacted local law enforcement and the U.S. Marshals office, who worked together to arrest Stout after a short chase on foot in Wilmington, New Hanover County, North Carolina, USA.

Currently, Stout is in a jail in North Carolina and is expected to be extradited back to West Virginia. He is also expected to face criminal charges in North Carolina.
