Gilberto Garza III, 40, of San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas, United States has previous arrests for assault, drug possession and theft. In December 2022, he responded to a sexually explicit advertisement of an underage girl on MocoSpace, a mobile social network headquartered in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, USA.
The advertisement was posted by Bryan Longoria, 19, and the underage girl was a runaway staying with him and his girlfriend. The underage girl and his girlfriend were friends.
Longoria arranged a meeting between Garza and the underage girl and drove the girl to an apartment complex. After sexually assaulting her there, Garza gave her money via CashApp.
When Longoria picked up the girl from the apartment complex, she gave the money to him. The San Antonio Police Department did not disclose the location of the apartment complex.
Garza was arrested and charged with harboring a runaway child. In February 2023, he was released on bond.
On May 16, 2023, Garza was arrested again. He was charged with first-degree trafficking of a child with cause to engage in sexual offenses, a felony.
Bail for Garza was set at $150,000. Longoria has an active warrant and he has yet to be arrested, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
