Arturo Moreno Torres, 28, of Denver, Colorado, United States was allegedly in Hoffman Heights, Aurora, Colorado on May 1, 2023. He is accused of shooting a man, 28, in the area of 13100 block of East 13th Place in Hoffman Heights at about noon that day.
The shooting stemmed from a road rage incident, detectives found out. The Aurora Police Department neither released the name of the victim nor confirmed if he was a resident of Hoffman Heights.
The victim’s car had several bullet holes. He was rushed to the hospital where he had emergency surgery.
Torres and the victim did not know each other. The latter died of multiple gunshot wounds in the hospital.
On the the evening of May 26, 2023, the Direct Action Response Team (DART) Unit of the Aurora Police Department arrested Torres. He was charged with one count of first-degree murder.
The Aurora Police Department was established in 1907. Its headquarters are at East Alameda Parkway in Aurora.
In the early 1980s, the Aurora Police Department launched its DART unit. It was disbanded in 2016 and relaunched in June 2022.
