Dustin Alexander McDowell, 33, of Loganville, Georgia, United States comes from a family of access control specialists. The family is known in the lock industry.
Aside from Loganville, McDowell has lived in other parts of Georgia including Athens, Bethlehem, Commerce, Hoschton, Monticello and Winder. He owns Dynasty Access and Overhead, which is based in Loganville and registered on February 27, 2020.
At around 7:00 p.m. on May 26, 2023, McDowell was wearing a cowboy hat while in the passenger side of a white Ford truck with a temporary license plate driven by someone else to Marco’s Pizza on Front Beach Road in Panama City Beach, Bay County, Florida, USA. The truck allegedly followed Marco’s Pizza delivery driver Dakota Cain Orme, 22, of Panama City Beach.
McDowell got out of the truck. He was caught on camera putting Orme in a rear choke hold until the delivery driver passed out.
What happened before the assault is still unknown. McDowell and Orme did not know each other.
Once unconscious, Orme was forcefully thrown to the ground by McDowell. Other Marco’s Pizza employees and people nearby came to help the delivery driver.
Orme was taken immediately to the hospital for treatment. McDowell left the scene in the white Ford truck.
On May 27, 2023, Panama City Beach Police Department officers arrested McDowell in Panama City Beach. He was charged with aggravated battery and tampering with evidence.
