Yudierquis Reyes-Merino, 38, of Grand Island, Hall County, Nebraska, United States is accused of physically assaulting her husband, 40. At around 5:00 p.m. on May 26, 2023, she allegedly used a kitchen knife to stab him in the leg.
Reyes-Merino allegedly scratched her husband on his face. He told Grand Island Police Department officers used a key to cause lacerations on his chest and hands.
An infant born in November 2022 was present during the attack but was not physically harmed. The Grand Island Police Department did not confirm whether or not the infant is Reyes-Merino’s child.
The husband was transported to a hospital for treatment. Reyes-Merino was arrested and charged with second-degree domestic assault, intentional child abuse and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
Grand Island is the county seat of Hall County. The city is home to the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center.
